Watters Creek Spreads “Messages of Hope”

Watters Creek, a premier outdoor lifestyle shopping center in Allen, TX developed by Trademark Property, is spreading Messages of Hope throughout the greater Dallas market. In an effort to uplift and give a voice to their community, Watters Creek’s marketing director, Debra Martinez, and creative agency, ArtFly Design, developed a way to visualize positivity and community spirit in an impactful way.

The center’s jumbo LED billboard is perfectly positioned off US 75 which runs along the east side of the property with visibility to more than 190,000 vehicles on any given day. Typically, the board is used for property messages such as event announcements, partnership marketing, and merchant incentives. Using social media, Watters Creek put out a call for Messages of Hope asking followers to submit their messages to be displayed on the popular property billboard and the response was incredible.

In the first six days, Messages of Hope organically reached close to 5,000 people and had 717 interactions on Facebook alone. In this short time, the initiative garnered over 100 requests including well wishes to doctors, nurses, teachers, college graduates, and high school graduates among many others. Watters Creek posted the messages of hope felt during the COVID-19 crisis, including birthday messages to loved ones, congratulatory messages on college acceptance, and thank you notes to first responders, teachers and school staff. Even Watters Creek merchants reached out to thank their customers, including this one from White House Black Market, “We miss our WHBM customers! Love, Kathryn, WHBM Store Manager.”

In addition to Messages of Hope, Watters Creek has supported and is continuing to support an online virtual donation drive for Allen Community Outreach via their Amazon.com wishlist, reposting followers’ Monday Motivation and Feel Good Friday messages, supplying kid-friendly activities for Easter, Earth-Day, May Day, Mother’s Day, and more.
