The Christmas Capital of Texas™ is right down the road in Grapevine, which is home to more than 1,400 holiday events, making this charming Christmas setting a must-visit destination for the season. We asked Grapevine’s Tourism Bureau to plan a weekend of holiday fun with your whole family.
Marvel at dozens of lavish holiday displays including more than two million twinkling lights at Gaylord Texan Resort’s 14th Annual Lone Star Christmas. Then enjoy ICE! featuring Twas the Night Before Christmas, Cookies & Milk with Mrs. Claus, The Elf on the Shelf® Scavenger Hunt and other holiday events. The beautiful ice sculptures are hand-carved by a team of master ice artisans from China and feature magical holiday scenes, brilliant characters, an “On the Blocks” ice bar (21 & up) and five two-story-tall ice slides. The 14,000-square-foot attraction is a wintry 9 degrees, and the resort provides complimentary parkas. Additional fun activities include Glacier Glide Ice Skating Rink, Santa’s Wild Workshop Snow Tubing, Gingerbread Decorating Corner and Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Breakfast.

Celebrate the season with a visit to the Christmas Light Show at the Town Square Gazebo. This free event will dazzle your entire family with a 20-minute synchronized light display. You’ll see why Grapevine is the Christmas Capital of Texas® when you see the entire town lit up in millions of twinkling lights. The show runs nightly from 6pm – 11pm

Ride the rails aboard Grapevine’s North Pole Express! Board the beautifully decorated Grapevine Vintage Railroad’s Victorian rail coaches and begin your journey to the North Pole. As the train arrives at Reindeer Ridge, Mrs. Claus boards the train and presents each child with a “We Believe” silver Santa bell. After the train arrives at the North Pole, guests walk along the snowy Christmas Tree trail as they enter Santa’s workshop, where a cast of elves are busily making toys. Finally, Santa arrives and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and then shares his Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk. Families will also receive a complimentary family photo with Santa.

Create your own Christmas keepsake when you take a Help Create class at Vetro Glassblowing Studio. Select your colors and work one-on-one with a glassblowing artist to create your own hand-blown glass ornament.

For parents with adult children, don’t miss Christmas Wine Trains aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, featuring wine from a Grapevine winery and a delicious, traditional Christmas boxed dinner. Or sip and savor along Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail at ten winery tasting rooms to try award-winning wines from Texas and beyond.
