Healthcare: The Research Alternative

by Dr. Frances Herbert | Contributor

Even with insurance, healthcare is expensive when you consider the added cost of premiums and copays.   Prescriptions, labs, and x-rays are not always included, and standard therapies don’t always work.   Participation in a clinical trial may be a worthwhile option for you or your family members.

In a clinical trial, participants receive medical products, drugs, devices, and sometimes procedures as part of a specific intervention.  The trials are created and overseen by physicians called Investigators.  Some trials compare a new product to a known product, and others compare a generic product to a name brand product.   Physicians determine your eligibility to enter the trial and oversee your health and safety during the trial.  Participation is always voluntary, and, as a participant, you are thoroughly informed regarding the details of the study including risks, benefits, and alternatives.  Plus, your time and travel are reimbursed (ranging from $50-$100/visit).

Synexus US started 27 years ago as Research Across America and is a premier clinical trial research facility with offices in Dallas, Plano, Mesquite, and El Paso.  Synexus US has conducted over 2,000 studies, involving multiple medical conditions, and is a top choice for participation in clinical trial research.

The first step to study participation begins with a call to Synexus US where trained personnel will discuss your health history with you and guide you to trials relevant to your medical history.  Making your research experience safe and rewarding is our top priority.
