With the spring season in full bloom and summer looming, it’s important to get outdoors and take it all in. Time spent outdoors (even if this means around your neighborhood) is proven to boost our mood, lower stress, and bring us a small bit of happiness. Moreover, creating a bucket list with fun things to do and to strive to complete, is another way to bring more happiness into our daily life.
We encourage you to invite a friend or family member, write a bucket list (perhaps stick it to your fridge or cupboard), and strive to complete all the fun tasks before summer arrives. Stuck for ideas? See our ultimate spring bucket list below.
- Sunrise: Wake up early, make a tasty breakfast, and watch the sunrise. Capture a photo or two to remember this beautiful and peaceful start to your day.
- Picnic: Invite your friends over, secure some fruits, vegetables, and a sweet treat or two, and venture to your local park or playground for a picnic. Enjoy the food together, take fun photos, and relish in each other’s company.
- Bike Ride: Dust off your bike and go for a ride! Invite your family along with you, bike towards an ice cream shop, or to a nearby lookout point.
- Flower Hunt: Go for a walk and search for blooming flowers. Take photos of your favorite flower blooms!
- Adventure: Search for nearby national parks or hiking destinations, and plan a day-trip with your friends or family.
- Farmers Market: Support local growers and vendors, enjoy fresh food, and browse locally sourced goods.
- Outdoor Reading: Grab your current or favorite book (click here for recommendations), and read outdoors in your backyard or patio for 15 minutes. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
- Zoo Trip: Embrace your inner-child and visit the zoo! Spot your favorite animals and enjoy some time in the sun.
- Local Gardens: Search for local botanical gardens and take a day-trip. Capture some beautiful photos, and determine which flower is your favorite.
- S’mores: With parental permission, have a bonfire and enjoy some tasty s’mores!
