The NBA G League named the Texas Legends as the Franchise of the Year, and Legends’ President and General Manager Malcolm Farmer scored the title of Team Executive of the Year, marking a perfect ending to a winning season, recording 23 sell-outs at Comerica Center in Frisco.
Led by Farmer and his innovative approach to engaging fans, the affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks was among the league leaders in attendance, media rights deals, and corporate sponsorships.
“Winning Franchise of the Year is a tremendous honor as we enter our historic tenth season. It is a Team honor—and it is a testament to the hard work of all of our Legends team members including employees, players, coaches, game day staff, interns, dancers, partners, season ticket members, and others.”
The Legends is all about the ‘fun factor’ and includes family-friendly activities during the games, creating a non-stop party atmosphere.
What’s in store for the Texas Legends this year? We asked President & GM Malcolm Farmer to tell us!
Q: Tell us why year 10 is going to be the best one yet!
A: We strive to get better every year. We are using this year to say thank you to the fans and community for all the support over the years.
Q: What has changed the most in the last decade since you launched? What has stayed the same?
A: I would say the in-game experience has evolved the most. We have always made it a goal to get better every season, so there’s constantly changes and new additions happening. The biggest constant has been the heart of the organization. Donnie brought the team to Frisco with a purpose—to affect lives—and we are passionate about the community and giving back in every way possible.
Q: What is the one thing you’d like everyone to know about Texas Legends?
A: We are all about FUN!
Q: Can we purchase 2019-2020 season tickets now? Any special promos happening this summer?
