Army Scholarship Foundation is honored to welcome Medal of Honor recipient Captain Florent Groberg (US Army, Retired) to the organization’s 9th annual Help Our Heroes luncheon as the guest of honor and speaker for the event scheduled October 30, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
Captain Groberg distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity during combat operations in Asadbad, Afghanistan on August 8, 2012. He threw himself in front of a suicide bomber to push him away from the other soldiers in the formation before the bomber’s vest detonated. Captain Groberg’s extraordinary heroism and selflessness above and beyond the call of duty at the risk of life are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service. For his actions he received the Congressional Medal of Honor in 2015. There are only 62 living recipients of this distinction.
After being medically retired from the US Army, Groberg went on to obtain a master’s degree in management and to pursue a successful career in the corporate sector. Currently he serves as a Vice President at AE Industrial.
Groberg will address the audience at the organization’s largest individual fundraiser which will also include Dallas’ own Celebrity Master of Ceremonies Mark Davis, host of The Mark Davis Show on 660AM The Answer and is hosted by Army Scholarship Foundation’s CEO Colonel Jeff Gault (US Army, Retired) and his wife Rose Gault, who serves as President of the organization. All proceeds go to providing scholarships to the sons and daughters of active-duty and retired US Army soldiers and the spouses of active-duty enlisted soldiers.
Tickets to the event are available at armyscholarshipfoundation.org
