Allen Philharmonic Presents Free Out Of This World Concert for Young Audiences

The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus presents a free, family-friendly program of music inspired by space— Out of this World.

On Sunday, March 19, from 3-4 p.m., audiences young and old can hear music from Star WarsStar Trek, and selections from space-inspired classical works such as Gustav Holst’s The Planets. Th highlight of the afternoon will be the world premiere of composer David MacDonald’s new work for children’s audiences titled What. On Earth. Was That? —  a piece about an alien who finds his way to Earth and can only communicate through music.

“We’re thrilled to bring our community a performance for all ages that brings the fun and fascinating aspects of space to life,” said Allen Philharmonic President Kathy Litinas. “Out of this World is the perfect Sunday matinee with the family, and we’re also offering pre-concert activities for the kids starting at 2 p.m. We can’t wait to inspire the next generation of musicians and explorers!”

What: The Allen Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting a casual, family-friendly program of music inspired by space — Out of this World.

When: Sunday, March 19, from 3-4 p.m. with pre-concert activities at 2:00pm

Where: Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen Dr. in Allen, Texas.

Fee:  Free to the public.
