NTPA Repertory Theatre Wins Four Broadway World Awards Recognized as Best Theatre for Young Audiences

North Texas Performing Arts’ Repertory Theatre has been honored with four prestigious Broadway World Dallas Regional Awards for outstanding productions in 2024.

With wins in these four categories, NTPA solidifies its reputation as a leader in the North Texas performing arts community with more Broadway World Regional Awards than any other theatre in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

  • Best Performer in a Musical – Sawyer Bell for his portrayal of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Bell trained for over a decade in NTPA’s youth programs, performing in some fifty productions.
  • Best Supporting Performer in a Musical – Amanda Reid for her role as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. An NTPA Academy graduate and regular on NTPA youth stages, Amanda just starred in Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen in the leading role of Ali.
  • Best Costume Design – Nick Mann, Robin Fuller, and Lisa Rodenbaugh for their collaboration creating historically authentic costumes bringing to life Imperial Russia to Paris.
  • Best Theatre for Young Audiences – Recognizing NTPA’s commitment to producing engaging and inspiring theatrical experiences for young audiences across the Dallas area.

“We are honored to have been selected to receive this recognition, and proud of our NTPA Repertory Theatre,” says NTPA Chief Executive Officer Darrell Rodenbaugh. “Our Repertory productions continue to bring incredible acting and directorial talent from across the DFW metroplex, and we are honored to bring these productions to our Plano stages.”  

The “Best of Broadway World Awards” program is hosted by Broadway World, and recognizes the 2024 regional productions, touring shows, and more which had their first performance between October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 in nineteen different categories including performers, troupes, designers and creative teams.

“I am humbled by this recognition and so proud of our casts and crew in making this possible,” says NTPA Repertory Theatre Creative Director Nick Mann. “I am excited to continue to bring these great works to life, and can’t wait to share our upcoming season with our audiences.”

NTPA’s 2025 Repertory Theatre season features exciting titles including Into the Woods, Oklahoma, Footloose, and Rocky Horror Show. Featuring professional actors from across the metroplex, NTPA Repertory Theatre remains dedicated to “Bring Broadway to the ‘Burbs.”

NTPA productions and artists received an impressive 23 nominations across 14 categoriesin this year’s Broadway World Dallas Regional Awards, reinforcing its role as a leading force in the North Texas theatre scene.
