Legacy of Love Benefit & Fashion Show Supports Children’s Health

By Shelby Hicks | Contributor

The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano is hosting the 9th annual Legacy of Love Benefit & Fashion Show on Thursday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be virtually presented at Grandscape Amphitheater in order to keep attendees healthy and safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The event will look different this year, but will hold the same, if not more, impact from years past as we continue the tradition of Legacy of Love to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Medical Center of Plano,” said Joan Smith, president of the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano. “We are passionate about Children’s Health’s mission to make life better for children and are honored to play a part in the process.”

Event and raffle tickets can be purchased at legacyoflovebenefit.org.

This year’s event will include inspiring patient stories, interactive virtual experiences, celebrity and designer interviews, a special patient fashion show and the latest trends featuring local designers in our community. Legacy of Love is thrilled to showcase talented designers: Valerie Garmino, Topped Hats, Izzy K By Gemelli, FERRAH, Sai Sankoh, Esé and Don Morphy. The evening will also highlight special guest appearances and familiar faces throughout the program.

Event and raffle tickets can be purchased at legacyoflovebenefit.org. Premier tickets provide an enhanced experience including heavy appetizers, delectable treats, beverages, a box of surprises and interactive props, which are available for $125 for an individual. Ticket bundles are also available for groups of two ($200), four ($400) and/or six ($600). Individuals interested in accessing the virtual fashion show only can purchase a standard ticket at $60.

“The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano believes deeply in making life better for children. The impact of their continued partnership across the years is huge,” said Brent Christopher, president of Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Legacy of Love provides life-changing funds that directly benefit patients and their families, while giving everyone a special glimpse of what happens at Children’s Health. This year’s virtual show will be spectacular, as always, and we can’t wait!”

The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano was formed in 2010 to help meet the needs of Children’s Medical Center Plano, which officially opened its doors in August 2008. Net proceeds from the Legacy of Love Benefit & Fashion Show will go directly to Children’s Medical Center Plano. Since 2010, the Women’s Auxiliary, Plano Chapter has raised over $1.6 million in support of the Children’s Health mission to make life better for children.
