“Flow”: A Premiere Exhibit by Watercolorist Stephen Zhang

When: February 4-March 4

Where: Dallas Children’s Theater

What: The Artists Showplace Gallery welcomes international artist Stephen Zhang in his first U.S. exhibition. An opening reception to meet the artist will be held on Friday, February 10, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will feature jazz saxophonist Ray Baker. Complimentary wine and appetizers will be served.

In his large-scale watercolors, Stephen Zhang freezes fleeting moments in time: an old man caught in the moment, or intriguing light deep in the forest. Combining influences from both classic Chinese and contemporary arts, he builds his portraits with layers of stories and emotions. Zhang has  been featured in international art publications, and his work has garnered awards from prestigious art associations, including the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the American Portrait Society.

Teen Scene Players Present “Eat (It’s not about food)”

What: Candidly exploring causes and warning signs, playwright Linda Daugherty takes a hard look at how society and the media influence self-identity. In EAT (It’s Not About Food), we see individual stories of young people struggling with this epidemic, and all too often tragic problem.

Hot to Trot

STARR Test Prep Workshop

Explore Certified tutors from Explore Horizons will be running our engaging workshops with the children. Children will also receive goody bags, lizard cards that can be traded in for prizes, snacks, and a chance to win a free month’s membership!

Our Dallas/Ft.
