With less than 90 days until the 2024 State Fair of Texas, the iconic 55-foot-tall cowboy is looking to hire thousands of seasonal Tex Team members to welcome fairgoers to the Most Texan Place on Earth. Known for celebrating all things Texan, seasonal team members are essential to greeting fairgoers worldwide with the Fair’s signature Texantude. Seasonal job applications for a variety of departments and positions are now available online at BigTex.com/Jobs.
The State Fair provides more than 7,000 seasonal job opportunities every year, with approximately 2,400 people employed directly by the State Fair of Texas. The starting wage for job openings paid by the State Fair of Texas in 2024 is $18.25/hour, a 2.3% increase from the previous $17.82/hour in 2023.
Applications for State Fair seasonal positions can be found online, with opportunities available in the following areas: coupon sales, creative arts, games, gates, guest services, livestock, maintenance, plumbing, and others. As the annual event is a collection of small businesses, business partners offer the remaining seasonal positions, including contractors, food and beverage concessionaires, ride and games operators, vendors, clean team, and security.

This resource center is a one-stop shop that is dedicated to new and returning seasonal employees, where they can receive assistance with their applications and necessary paperwork, attend in-person interviews, orientations, and so much more. To streamline everyone’s hiring journey, it is highly encouraged that folks complete as much as possible online before visiting the resource center. The Tex Team Resource Center is located on the fairgrounds at 1331 Washington St, Dallas, TX 75210, and will be open from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout July with extended hours closer to Fairtime. When you visit them, please utilize the parking lot at Gate 2 for easy access to the resource center.
