Ingredients:
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/3 c. granulated white sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold
- 1/2 c. heavy whipping cream, cold
- 3 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp. milk
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Place the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in the bowl and whisk to combine.
- Cut the butter into pieces and mix until mixture looks like coarse meal.
- Continue to mix while adding the cream and the vanilla extract.
- Use your hands and work mixture into a dough ball. Separate into three equal disks.
- Use a sharp knife and cut each disk into your desired amount of triangles.
- Depending on whether you want small or large scones, cut your dough accordingly.
- Bake the scones for 16 to 20 minutes, until set in the centers and slightly golden on the bottoms.
- In a small bowl, stir the powdered sugar, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract and milk together until smooth.
- Drizzle a small amount of glaze on top of each scone.
