Officer Christopher Bianez Recognized as 2017 “Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist”

The Texas Crime Prevention Association held an awards luncheon on July 27th at which Officer Christopher Bianez was recognized as the “Outstanding Crime Prevention Specialist” of the year. He was selected over all the other Crime Prevention Officer’s across the state in the large agency category. “We are proud of his accomplishment and honored to have him as part of our department, serving the absolute best citizens possible,” said Public Information Officer David Tilley, Plano Police Department.

Officer Bianez joined the Plano Police Department in 1997 and  is currently assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit with the responsibility of safety education for tweens, teens and adults. Outside the police department he offers trampoline and martial arts workshops and programs to help adults avoid being the victims of crime. Bianez helps individuals increase safety for their families, property, neighborhood, and businesses.

Bianez is also a former member of the GOOD LIFE FAMILY MAGAZINE Editorial Advisory Board.

His inspiring personal story of overcoming hardships no child should ever face is one he shares frequently at Plano schools as a guest speaker.  Bianez tells students that even if bad things happen, they can still have a positive life.  He says, “Good people do exist in the world. Not everyone is evil. It’s all about making the right choices.”

Christopher Bianez’s life has come full circle, taking the lessons from a bad situation and weaving them into teachable moments. “What I thought was the greatest adversity in my life ended up being the greatest blessing,” says Bianez. “It was the life changing event that gave me my purpose in life: to strengthen youth to stay drug and violence free.”
