Relax Your Body; Release Your Stress

The French word “relâche” is often translated as “relax,” which is easy to do as soon as you walk into the Relâche Spa & Salon at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. They offer “first-class pampering while guests enjoy the tranquility that comes with healthy, tension-free living.”  Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?

The hotel itself is a one-of-a-kind retreat offering luxurious accommodations, first-class restaurants, eclectic shops, and 4.5 acres of lush, indoor gardens. You can feel yourself starting to relax as you make your way through the winding waterways and past the fountain to the spa area.  This is a full-service facility offering custom massages, body treatments, facial therapies, manicures and pedicures, as well as specialty treatments for mothers-to-be and gentlemen.  Afterwards, guests can relax in the steam rooms, saunas, and relaxation rooms.

Another meaning of relâche is “release.” Life can get so hectic that we need the chance to release the stress of day-to-day responsibilities, if only for a little while, and recharge our batteries.  Think how much better prepared you’ll be to face the day after “…. treatments that will leave you in an oasis of luxury and sheer rejuvenation.”

The DFW metroplex is fortunate to have such an amazing property right in its own backyard.  It is the perfect place for a couple’s getaway or a weekend girls’ trip.  Guest Debbie Jackson met up with a girlfriend for two days at the Gaylord for some pampering and quiet time away to catch up.  The ladies had been college roommates almost 20 years earlier but now live in different states.  Debbie says, “The Gaylord was the perfect place for our get-away.  We were able to visit over lunch, made some great finds in the shops, and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the spa.  We had an amazing time.”

Of course, while you’re at the Gaylord, you should definitely take advantage of all the other amenities at the hotel – perhaps with a creative cocktail on the two-story outdoor deck at the Glass Cactus or a delicious dinner at the Riverwalk Cantina, following your rejuvenating day of relaxation and release at the Relâche Spa & Salon.
