What: This holiday, give an abused child a reason to smile. Donate gifts, gift cards, or adopt a child for the 2016 Holiday Project. Requests for holiday gifts include, but are not limited to: make-up kits, mp3 players, headphones, perfume & cologne, hair styling tools, sports equipment, lego sets, barbies, art supplies, bikes and helmets, play kitchens with accessories, work stations, dress up clothes, and baby dolls. HeARTS of Maya, Dallas’ Studio 7 and Pogue Entertainment Group Present: Talented Toy Drive

Ho Ho Ho! Dallas’ Studio 7, Pogue Entertainment Group and HeARTS of Maya are hosting a Talented Toy Drive on Sunday, December 11th at Gilleys Dallas.  There is an overwhelming need for toys this time of year for families in Dallas less fortunate than others and these three organizations have joined together to organize a family-friendly event with entertainment, light bites and drinks where we can come together and celebrate the gift of giving back during the most magical time of year. Entrance into the event will simply require bringing one unwrapped gift.

Doors open at 1:30pm and shortly thereafter music and entertainment will be provided Studio 7’s CAS Performance Team, 10-year-old HeARTS of Maya founder, Maya Delgado, and a special guest performance from the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blues Dancers.

HeARTS of Maya is a non-profit, 501c3 foundation that provides educational scholarships to youth who want to pursue the arts, specifically music, acting, and/or dancing.

Dine and Donate Fundraiser

What: Come out and get a hand-cut steak, fall off the bone ribs, fresh veggies, along with free rolls and peanuts while you support our non-profit animal rescue organization. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of the sales, but you have to tell your server you’re there to support Crossed Paws!!!

Prepaid pet adoption gift certificate

The Operation Kindness Holiday Gift Package available for purchase at Operation Kindness and the Galleria Dallas Holiday Adoption Kiosk for $185 for dogs and $135 for cats, includes a five-inch plush dog toy to represent your gift and a gift certificate for the adoption fee. The certificate is valid for 90 days after the initial purchase to ensure the perfect pet is available. If the perfect pet is not available or the recipient does not wish to adopt an animal the gift certificate can be refunded.

Holiday Pet Adoptions at Galleria Dallas

During Operation Kindness Holiday Adoption Days at Galleria Dallas, which begin Black Friday, Nov. 25, and run through Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, shoppers can interact with adoptable dogs and cats, learn about volunteer opportunities and adopt a furry friend. Mrs. Texas U.S. Universal 2017 will kick-off the holiday adoption event with an appearance on Friday, November 25. Adoption hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sundays, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., and will take place at the south end of the mall near Banana Republic. Dogs will be available for adoption for $185 and cats for $135.

Pet Photos with Santa

On Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., pet parents are invited to the Kindness Klubhouse located at 13394 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75240 for holiday photos with Santa. Dogs, cats and the whole family are invited to sit on Santa’s lap to pose. A helper will snap 10-15 photos per session. Pet parents can choose to have their favorite photo framed in a 4”x6” format for $15, or receive a 4”x6” framed photo and a thumb drive with all of the photos for $25. These photos make great holiday cards, and all proceeds benefit Operation Kindness.

Wrapping for Kindness

Esther Mooring and a team of volunteers are requesting small donations in exchange for wrapping gifts to benefit Operation Kindness. Gift wrapping will be available at Barnes & Noble – Park and Preston from Nov. 25 through Dec. 24, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day. Gifts do not need to be purchased from Barnes & Noble to be wrapped – guests are encouraged to bring gifts from other places to be wrapped. Last year, Esther and her team of volunteer gift wrappers raised more than $12,000 for the no-kill shelter. This year she is hoping to raise even more funds with the goal of reaching $13,000.

PDQ Plano, Frisco and Murphy Stores Host Toys for Tots Drive 

PDQ Plano, Frisco and Murphy stores are partnering up with Toys for Tots again this year to host a toy drive, spreading cheer to local children in need this holiday season.

Toy drop-off boxes are available at all three locations starting November 21st. Toy donations will be accepted through December 13th. All guests who donate a toy for the drive will receive a PDQ card good for a free three-piece chicken tenders, sandwich or a salad.

About Toys for Tots:

The principal Toys for Tots activity which takes place each year are the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located.  In communities without a Reserve Unit, the campaign can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign.  Local Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, which include golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots, and concurrently generate toys and monetary donations.

Soup Mobile

What: The SoupMan invites you and your family to join him for a magical Christmas. The SoupMan and his fabulous Soup Team will be taking 500 homeless men, women, and children right off the streets and putting them up at the Dallas Omni Hotel for Christmas. Each guest will receive new clothes, fabulous gifts, and lots of love, but most important is that when they wake up on Christmas morning, it will be in a safe, warm bed at the spectacular downtown Dallas Omni Hotel.

Meals on Big Wheels 

What: All aboard the Party Bus! Volunteers will deliver meals to the homebound elderly and disabled clients served by VNA Meals On Wheels. After our delivery, we will tour the kitchen where the meals are made and learn more about the VNA Meals On Wheels program.

Annual Gift Drive with Children’s Health of Plano & Dallas

Children’s Health has a tradition of giving each hospitalized child a gift on December 25. Gifts come from generous donations from the public and are wrapped by hospital staff. Any gifts that are not distributed are given to children throughout the remainder of the year on birthdays and other milestones. Donations also stock the shelves of playrooms for hospitalized children.

Volunteer with Family Gateway

The success of Family Gateway’s children and families depends on support from community volunteers. Volunteers of all ages are needed, but children 14 and under must be supervised by an adult. Opportunities include: preparing a room for a new family to move in, organizing a donation drive, tutoring children, teaching an adult class, planning activities for children, prepare a meal, or provide administrative assistance.
