Yes, yes, yes—I know we have great restaurants, amazing parks and trendy shops right in our own backyard. And I am certainly appreciative of all the perks that come with living in Suburbia. But have you taken a day recently to enjoy the Big D? In the quest of all good things to eat and drink, I’ve recently found myself enjoying some of the best of what Dallas has to offer.
Suburbanites, are we hip enough to infiltrate the Big D? Are we young enough? Savvy enough? Who knows? Just get out there and do it!
Grab your dog and your kids and take a little day trip to explore beyond your usual spots.

Ready to work off your breakfast?
You have to do something between meals—so, shopping anyone? Head to the Knox-Henderson area for the best shopping:
On the Knox side, there’s the Apple store, STARPOWER, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, Smith & Hawken, Pottery Barn and Z Gallerie. Check out Nest (amazing home furnishings), Forty Five Ten (fashions for him and her and home), Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams—all on McKinney Avenue.
Save room for a drink or bite after all your shopping, as this area is known for restaurants and bars as well.

Looking for something a little more energetic? Those cruffins are not going to melt away by themselves. Head to the Katy trail for a 3.5-mile walk. Make sure to take a break at the Katy Trail Ice House—the perfect casual spot to rehydrate.
