So, the first thing you need to know about me is that I am obsessed with food and entertaining — and not in a healthy, grow your own vegetables, make your own bread or drop on by any time kind of way.

More in a…

• Food IS a cure for emotional pain.
• If you want to keep that hand don’t touch my plate!
• Are you really going to serve that on aluminum foil?
• You can’t say it’s homemade if it came from a box.
• Surely you can TASTE the chemicals in this?
• Food should never be this color!
• How can this be a party when there’s no cake???
• Do not ever say potluck or crock-pot or mayonnaise to me.
…kind of way.

Never in a million years did I think I could make a career out of my obsessions, but that is exactly what I have finally done. With the launching of Capers, a communal culinary experience, I have created a venue to share my love of cooking and socializing with others. The web site, communalcapers.com, shares some of my best (and worst) culinary creations and advice for entertaining. Get some friends together and sign up for one of our culinary events – somewhat like a pop up restaurant, only you and your guests will join me in the kitchen to create your favorite foods. I supply the ingredients and the instruction, and you learn new culinary skills and have fun while doing so. Did I mention the music is playing and wine is flowing while we “work”?

While my past professions and family background have taken many twists and turns, what I have returned to time after time is feeding the people I love. My ideal evening is family and friends in my home sharing delicious food…. and of course a cocktail or two. What I want to do now is to share that experience with you.

Satiated people are happy people and happy people make the world a better place – don’t you agree? Bon Appetit!
