Just in time for the start of a new school year, enrichment and tutoring provider Explore Horizons is opening its sixth Dallas-Fort Worth location in McKinney on August 14th at 3530 West University Drive, Suite 302.
On August 15th, all Explore Horizons centers including McKinney will host a free community day inviting parents and kids in for a variety of interactive educational workshops (a full schedule of events can be viewed here: https://www.explore-horizons.com/back-to-school/).
“We are very excited to become a part of the McKinney community,” said Sean Walker, Center Director for McKinney. “With the city’s recent growth, there is a demand for tutoring programs that not only reinforce what students learn in school but also challenge them to go beyond the lessons they learn in the classroom.”
Explore Horizons is designed to be the best possible complement to a school education; whether a child is striving for success in elementary or preparing to excel in middle or high school. Children become members and attend up to twice a week on a drop-in basis. Courses map to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills framework, and the curriculum includes math, reading, writing, STAAR prep, and study skills; all of which are adapted to the individual needs of each child.
“Whether students are finding a school challenging or are ready to take what they have learned to the next level, our unique learning environment and inspiring tutors will help all students develop a passion for learning, gain confidence, and become fearless learners,” said Walker.

Explore Horizons was founded in 2001 in the UK by Cambridge University mathematics graduate Bill Mills. It currently operates more than 100 centers in the U.K. The first center in the U.S. opened in March 2014 in Colleyville, Texas, and there are now also locations in Plano, Garland, Fort Worth, Frisco and McKinney.
