Royal Scones




2 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. granulated white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold
1/2 c. heavy whipping cream, cold
3 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. milk


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Place the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in the bowl and whisk to combine.
Cut the butter into pieces and mix until mixture looks like coarse meal.
Continue to mix while adding the cream and the vanilla extract.
Use your hands and work mixture into a dough ball. Separate into three equal disks.
Use a sharp knife and cut each disk into your desired amount of triangles. Depending on whether you want small or large scones, cut your dough accordingly.
Bake the scones for 16 to 20 minutes, until set in the centers and slightly golden on the bottoms.
In a small bowl, stir the powdered sugar, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract and milk together until smooth.
Drizzle a small amount of glaze on top of each scone.
