Kendra Scott Grand Opening at Watters Creek

The Big Designer Brings her Brand to Watters Creek

by Karyn Brodsky

Kendra Scott knows well that “Everything is bigger in Texas.” Once referred to as “Texas’ best kept secret,” Kendra Scott has taken the fashion world by storm with her big dreams, big heart, and big company growth.  Next up for Kendra?  Watters Creek!

Since 2002, Kendra Scott has been creating stunning statement pieces with natural stones and custom shapes. The Spring 2016 Collection spotlights her keen eye for design. Inspired by the abstract beauty of modern artwork, the collection focuses on natural stones and minimalist silhouettes with a fusion of modern structure and organic elegance. The brand’s creative campaign showcases the work of New Orleans based artist Mallory Page as a complement to the collection’s artful aesthetic.

According to Jenn Rich, Community Relations and Events Manager for the company, Kendra was drawn to Allen, TX for its incredible community. “The people in Texas have been so kind and compassionate to our business since the early days,” says Rich. “We cannot wait to strengthen our involvement in this incredible community.” She adds that Austin-based Kendra Scott was founded on the pillars of Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy, believing that giving back is the truest form of success. Through partnerships with individuals and charities, both local and national, the associates at Kendra Scott enjoy hosting a variety of unique store events where 20% of the proceeds benefit a selected cause. “We are excited to share that we are planning to give back to local organizations in Allen in a big way!”

In addition to paying it forward through the Kendra Gives Back initiative, the company’s big-minded founder who launched her collection with just $500, explains that the success and popularity of her business is due to persistence. “Never take ‘no’ for an answer. When someone tells you ‘no’ that’s when you turn it on. Keep the conversation going, ask for advice, talk through next steps or alternative options. At least you’re still talking,” Kendra advises. “My first piece of advice to any budding entrepreneur is to delete the word ‘no’ from your vocabulary, and never ever give up.”
